Project Overview
This project redesigns weak brown paper bags used at on-campus restaurants like True Burger, which often become soggy, tear easily, and fail to securely hold food and drinks. My design is a durable carrying box with built-in compartments for a drink, burger, fries, and sauces, featuring a reinforced base for support, a waxed interior to prevent moisture damage and slipping, and rounded handles for easier, more comfortable carrying.
Design Challenge
The challenge of this project was addressing the issue of weak brown paper bags used at on-campus restaurants like True Burger, which often become soggy, tear easily, and fail to securely hold food and drinks. I had to design a solution that improved durability and functionality. My design is a sturdy carrying box with a built-in drink slot and separate sections for a burger, fries, and sauces, featuring reinforced bottom layering for support, a waxed interior to reduce moisture damage and slipping, and rounded handles for more comfortable carrying.
